About the event

Welcome!

This International Retreat will be held at Paramita Retreat Centre in Quebec, Canada. People from all over the world are welcome. We will give priority for this retreat to people living abroad or outside the Quebec province.

All of Buddha's teachings are for the practice of 2 qualities : calm-abiding (shamatha) and special insight (vipashyana). As a foundation, calm-abiding is most important. To know how to practice and attain calm-abiding, it is of utmost importance the receive the authentic instructions coming from the Buddha. Lobsang Dekun, Buddhist Nun and Teacher at Paramita Centre will be the instructor and retreat leader.

In this retreat, there will be 4-5 sessions / day including instructions and meditation practice. You will receive the whole instructions on how to achieve calm-abiding, such as :

- The source of this practice

- The preparations for meditation

- The conducive conditions for practice

- The 5 faults and the 8 remedies

- The 9 Stages of practice

- And more!

You will have also time to enjoy the scenery and environment, taking walks close to the river and exchange with other participants. All participants will have a private room (unless you want to share with a friend; please contact us in this case, there is a reduced price) and 3 vegetarian meals a day. Arrival is made on June 28th, at 5:00 PM, where you will receive the instructions and advices for the retreat. The last day ( July 3rd ) will end after lunch, at 1:00 PM.
